First episode for 2020, the new decade and we are straight into plenty of tips and content to help you over the summer months. The episode begins few listener questions that have been submitted over the past few weeks. There are some great questions that you’ll learn a lot from as I explain my thoughts. Then I’m joined by SF team member Murray Stewart as he helps me answer a listener question about fishing Wyangla Dam. Then Murray stays on and I ask him a few questions about his recent fishing trips and what he has been up to.
Then I finish up the episode with the best fishing styles for the summer months. This is a jam-packed episode with plenty on content!

In this episode I was lucky enough to interview the man behind Balista Lures, James Dainton. Now James is a genuine bloke who loves his fishing… so much so that he made it his lifelong passion. In this episode we discuss Murray Cod techniques as James shares what he has learnt over many years of targeting cod including an incredible technique for chasing giant cod in Lake Mulwala.
Then we get onto talk about the origin of Balista Lures, how it all came about and how it grew to where it is today. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with James and I hope you enjoy this episode just as much as I did!

This is a cracker of an episode with the gun freshwater fisho… Rory Benn-Clibbron! I couldn’t believe how long we talked for in this episode and I didn’t want it to end because Rory shared so much content. He has fished ever since he was a kid and grew up in the Canberra region fishing the local waterways.
Rory has fished numerous waterways in the country for freshwater fish using a range of incredible techniques. Rory has a passion for creation, and this led to his own lure brand Perch Palm where he creates a range of quality soft plastics.

In this episode Chris and I sit down and talk about the least enlightening topic so far on the podcast… but it’s a topic that needed some attention. We talk about the ‘Impact of the Drought and Water Mismanagement on the Murray Darling Basin’.
We discuss what the MDB is and the Plan and Authority who manage the water. We talk about what has happened to all the water, the effect of the drought and what affect this is going to have on the future of the fisheries. It’s a hot topic of discussion as we come into the warmer weather where we may see even bigger fish kills with no rain in sight.
